Stamps Too (South Road)

Bored of Bootle? Sick of Sullies? Kingies karaoke doing your head in? Strand Tavern slappers not as exiting as they used to be? Try something different! Go down South Road! We did, and this is the first installment of our Waterloo reviews.

Stamps 2 is different to most places. It's the best (only) place to go if you want to see some proper good live music/standup comedy nearly every night of the week. From young student bands who can't play, through to old men with grey pony-tails running through the same Deep Purple classic for the millionth time, all musical tastes are catered for. Also keep an eye out for young, sexy, female acoustic guitarists playing on their own.

TV's - 0/5 - There aren't any.
Toilets - 2/5 - It's clean, there's bog roll, soap AND a lock on the door BUT it's so small that it's impossible to urinate without physically touching someone.
Ale - 1.5/5 - Only have Carlsberg lagers and they usually taste like shite. Stick to Guiness.
Staff - Fast and cheeful although no Pot Noodles.
Decor - A tegestologists wet dream (there's shitloads of beermats oon the walls)
Local Nutter - The geezer with the long hair and the Oliver Hardy hat who's always yammering on about music.

Stamps 2 has a friendly, laid-back atmosphere and there's always great music playing in the background. There's 2 computers in there so that you can browse the internet for free while you have a pint. Comedy nights are also a must if you enjoy sitting awkwardly in silence as some git who thought he was funny stands on stage and makes a show of himself.

Overall - 7/10 Something different!
